Someone once told me that to live a happy life you must make a conscious decision to be happy, that happy is not a natural state of mind. While I don't necessarily agree I can see his point. I do not make the choice to be happy, but I surround myself with creative people, look and discuss things that inspire me and drink far too much coffee to keep me buzzing and productive. Happiness, to me, is being able to eat breakfast at any time of the day.

Melbourne, Melbourne, it's a wonderful town....

----

I've always said I'm a walking contradiction.
Frankly, it's becoming a bore. Im born on the cusp of Sagittarius and Capricorn - two diametrically opposed personalities throwing martini glasses at each other from across the room.

But really, I'm much more grounded than that.

I worked hospitality for seven years but am an aspiring designer currently cutting his teeth in an architecture and interiors firm.

If I don't have your number on my phone I wont answer it.
If you call me after midnight I automatically assume someone has died. It's happened before.

I don't feel like dancing. I just want to get dressed in my coat, eyeliner and drink my martini while gossiping about the little people. Takes one to know one after all.

I'm easily distracted by shiny things, Hugo Boss shoes and architecture books. I nearly cried at the death of my favorite jeans, again with the near death of the next pair. Who becomes emotionally attached to jeans? I had 14721 songs on my ipod, and it is now below layers of freshly fallen snow on Mt Buller. Thank god for a credit card and late night JB-Hifi. I may have no cash, but I can spend a fortune on credit. You taught me well Alexxx.

I may not look it but yes, I am paying attention. My reflections cracked and looking back I'm so unrecognizable. And according to the what Muppet Are You quiz.. I'm Rowlf. You are a calm and quiet person, but this does not mean you are overlooked. You are easy going and a fan of the finer things in life. Your artistic flare, leads you to appreciate the arts, especially music! People are drawn to you and enjoy your sense of style. Your hospitality is flawless as you love entertaining friends...

And on that note I am going now. Don't say I didn't warn you.

It's a PR Nightmare! →

Yes the rumours are true: I’m off the drink for February as part of Feb Fast. This means no after work drinks, no cheeky cocktails and certainly no late night martinis. The gin stock of Melbourne is safe until March 1st.

Bradley and I, along with some staff members from Portello Rosso and Murmur are taking part in the event in order to raise money for organisations providing support, re-education and counselling for young Australians tackling serious alcohol and drug issues (including the Youth Support and Advocacy Service here in Victoria).

If you’d like to donate, you can do so online here: https://secure4.everydayhero.com.au/its_a_pr_nghtmare/donate

Donations are tax deductible (woohoo!) and you know, it’ll make you feel good supporting these community services.

A little about febfast for those who don’t know…

Let the febfast 2012 challenge begin!

It’s not easy to send the grog on holiday and temptation can lurk behind every fridge door. But if you can press the pause button not only will you feel healthier, you can also support thousands of young Australians.

Every day kids as young as 13 are struggling to overcome alcohol and drug addiction. Money from febfast goes to community services throughout Australia who provide support, mentoring, counselling and training. Donate to febfast and minimise the harmful effects of alcohol and drugs on our community.

Only 29 days to go…
